First, I want to thank the many of you who have greeted me on my birthday. I'm so thankful for the encouragement.

On a sadder note, we recently lost my mom's brother, Harry Goodman, to a heart attack this week. He had been in poor health but this was still very unexpected.

Although I won't be able to make the service, many of my family will be gathering in New Orleans for a service this weekend.

Please pray for them that they would call out to the risen Savior and that the God of all Comfort would comfort them through the abundance available through Jesus Christ.

GOODMAN Harry Norman Goodman, born May 4, 1945, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2010 at the age of 65 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was the son J. Sinclair Goodman Sr. and Josie Eloise Gay Goodman. Mr. Goodman was retired from the construction industry and recently worked at the Ursuline Academy in New Orleans and the New Orleans Sheriff Department. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of Vietnam. His is survived by Gilbert Goodman and Heather Casey of Thibodaux, Louisiana and Justin Goodman of Gulfport, Mississippi. Other surviving relatives are siblings Joseph "Mike" Goodman, Jr. and wife Sandy, Sr. Gay Goodman Rowzie, HM and Sydna Goodman Peterson and husband John and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews. The family wishes to thank Davita and the Tulane Medical Center especially Dr. Sonia Malhotra for the care which they gave Harry Goodman. A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Hope Christian Church, 5320 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers and the customary remembrances, donations may be made in Harry's name to the Sisters of the Humility of Mary, P.O. Box 901699, Cleveland, OH 44190-1699 or to HOPE for ANIMALS P.O.
