"Hey, where's Trey?"
God has granted me an amazing opportunity. In the fall of 2001, I accepted to be a three month volunteer at Kyoto International University/Academy, an international bilingual missionary school and college in Kyotanabe City in Kyoto, Japan. How did this all happen? Click here to learn more.
In January 2002, I traveled to Kyoto, Japan and taught in KIU Academy as a volunteer. Before and during my three month visit to Japan, I was seeking the Lord if I was to stay in Japan long term. In the end of February, God gave me an assurance that He has provided a place of ministry in Japan just for me. I knew I was to stay for at least one year and continue to seek God as to if I should come back to the States after that year... It's been quite a bit longer than that now!
So, what have I been doing?
At first, I taught a variety of different classes to from English, Arithmetic, and Health to Computer and Art classes. However because of the Japanese work visa requirements, my job shifted to spending more time in the office helping with computers; since that is my field of expertise. Not surprising, God was already at work directing my heart in that way before I found out about the visa requirements.
That covers the work but what about the rest of my time? When I can, I try to continue in my study of the Japanese language. Also, I'm involved with a church in the area. Finally, it is my goal I continue to connect with the Japanese people around me.
It has been an amazing adventure that God has brought me on. And I am looking forward to see what He will do in the future. Although we know that all things come from Him, I am also strongly aware of my great need of you all.
Thank you all for your love, prayers, encouragement and support.
With much love through Jesus Christ, Trey Rowzie
